My Complaint about a Blogger/Blogspot Stupidity

You know what’s stupid about Blogger?

Yeah, I know, lots of things, but this specific thing is incredibly stupid.

Whenever a Blogger user posts a comment on another Blogger site, their username at the top of their comment is a link to their user profile, rather than their blog. When you go to the profile, there is no way to get to that particular user’s blog from there.

So, essentially, you may see a really great comment and say, “Boy, I’d sure like to see what else he/she has to say.” Sorry, you just can’t do it.

If the Blogger user has a blog, then it should be at the bottom of the page. If they don’t have a Blogger or Blogspot blog, then you’re SOL with trying to find them, unless its there in front of your eyes. So, the short answer is, “if you can’t find the blog, there probably isn’t one.”

You need the comment leaver to choose ‘Other’ and then enter their name and URL like normal people do.

Actually, that option is not available on a log of blogger blogs. I now remember that I in fact have registered on there just so I could comment, and was frustrated that people would have no way of finding me short of starting a blogger blog to link from.

I don’t see it as frequently anymore, but I’m pretty sure it still happens. Hopefully google will get this sorted out.
