In case you’ve ever dismissed proper hyphenation as an unimportant aspect of writing, I submit these two examples:

“I was attacked by a bi-polar bear. Luckily his mood swung, leaving him too depressed to do much damage.”

“I was attacked by a bi polar bear. I’ll never be able to sit down again. Neither will my wife.”

As you can see, the hyphen is incredibly crucial to the meaning of those two sentences.

The TV addict’s prayer:

“Lord, grant me the Will to give these new fall shows a fair chance, and the Grace to accept that they’ve been canceled come spring.”

Disturbing thought for the day:

There’s a fine line between LAUGHTER and SLAUGHTER. Be careful you don’t cross it.

You know, if Osama bin Laden was really smart, he would have attacked New York in July rather than September.

Just think how much American life would have been affected; every time you went to buy a Super Big Gulp you would be reminded of those terrible events on 7-11.

I wonder if the goverment would have to bail out the manufacturers of Slim-Jims like they did with the airlines…
