Musing on UAP nonsense

I've been consuming a lot of conspiracy-ish content from a number of seemingly unrelated fields lately, and just noticed a big overlap that I haven't really heard anybody make hay out of previously.

One I really like is that an entire branch of physics, String Theory, was designed to occupy all the best minds for decades with absolutely nothing to show for it. An intentional dead-end to prevent progress in other branches like Relativity.

Seems pretty far-fetched...

But knowing that people believe that, the "generally accepted" theory on UAP propulsion by the people who believe they're piloted by little green men makes a lot more sense and becomes slightly plausible-sounding. The short version is that they believe that UAP generate a "bubble" of manipulated spacetime, within which the forces of gravity generated by the Earth have no effect. To us they look like they're moving impossibly fast and changing directions without inertia in ways that wouldn't be possible, but that's just what we see outside of the bubble. Inside the bubble they're obeying all the laws of physics.

It sounds silly, but, using standard Relativity, it's actually possible—just extremely implausible. The math checks out, and if it were happening, what we see as a a result would match what we're allegedly seeing. Generating such a bubble would require something with mass larger than the earth, or an equivalent amount of energy. We obviously don't have any way to generate that amount of energy (or mass) so clearly it's got to be super intelligent non-human beings responsible for what we're seeing.

But, if you believe that String Theory's appearance shut down all the public progress on Relativity—including so-called "anti-gravity" research—on purpose, while secret government research continued moving forward with Relativity, maybe they came up with a way to generate the kind of energy required to generate small bubbles in spacetime, meaning what we're seeing no longer requires extraterrestrials.
